We just watched Bones together on Skype. It felt so normal, because that’s something we generally do most days when we’re in the same city. We laughed at the lame jokes & her smiles made my heart swell with love. She’s most definitely worth braving the distance.
I’ll see her on Thursday, unless the stupid volcano decides to ruin my plans. All I need to do is not focus on how much I’m hating the packing & cleaning I need to do & instead remember that we’ll be in the same city, together, by noon on Thursday.
if you could live in any place for a year, where would it be? please include a photo-link. :D
I would say… somewhere in the alps, perhaps Austria? You could go skiing/snowboarding while I make snow people & throw snowballs at you, there would be saunas, I could pick pretty flowers & give you posies, we could re-enact The Sound of Music (except we don’t need to have so many children), we could eat strudels & streusels & sauerkraut & sausages (alliteration foods), there would be plenty of good beer, we could have lots of eskimo kisses & snuggle up every day & night.
I took one look at my dirty kitchen this morning & cried. I’ve been so over-emotional. Cute messags from Julia made me cry (at work, too, which was slightly embarrassing). I had comfort chicken noodle soup for dinner. And all I’ve been craving today is sugar. I’ve eaten 2 punnets of strawberries, a few rows of dark chocolate & now I’m eating chocolate coated prunes.
Ugh. I hate probably more than 90% of today’s mainstream music. I think that most great musicians & singers are untouched by consumer society. They’re probably busking on a street corner somewhere & will never be signed because they don’t fit a particular stereotypical marketable physical mould. For example, I recently went to an engagement party at which the couple had paid a street busker to play. He was magnificent, playing his own brand of folky blues. But the sad truth was that he looked like a more bearded version of the fat Jesus guy from The Hangover, which is perfectly fine by me but is unlikely to endear him to record companies.
