“In an effort to support gender neutrality, Sweden recently added a gender-neutral pronoun, “hen,” to the country’s National Encyclopedia.”—
This is a great article looking at a several preschools in Sweden which have stopped making references to the gender of their students. I WISH I could follow these students over the course of their schooling and create a whole documentary about how this experience affected them. I can pretty much bet these kids will be some of the coolest kids on the planet because of the environment that they are being raised in.
My sister has anorexia. I have worked with teenagers with eating disorders & it’s the most painful thing to watch anyone suffer through. I know how it works, I know how to treat it & I know how to educate other people about it.
But it’s my sister & she’s so young & beautiful & all the things I know & should be doing don’t even occur to me because I’m so scared. She looks like a walking corpse & she thinks nothing is wrong. I don’t know what to do.
My lovely girlfriend was just on joy fm to promote the Victorian ladies gridiron league she’s organising. Hearing her voice on the radio was quite surreal. It’s so wonderful to hear her gushing about the things she’s passionate about: her passion is one of the main qualities that drew me to her & one of the reasons I fell in love with her.
As much as I love beautiful women, I’m disinterested in a woman who’s physically beautiful but doesn’t have a beautiful personality. Julia may not be a supermodel, but when she smiles or talks about the things she’s interested in, there’s no one more radiant than her.

(I would play if I could, but breaking my knees has left me a crippled old lady who can’t run or even climb stairs quickly)
